紧凑城市；城市可持续发展；城市形态； - Abstract: The debates of compact city as a sustainable urban form or not have lasted for more than a decade. But the definition of compact city may still be difficult to conceptualize. The paper introduces the archetype and the development of compact city, summarizes the principles to build compact city, and the opinions of the author.
