选取荔湾清平街为研究对象，通过调查分析，发现该地区的居住环境已今非昔比：这里已经成为外来人口和低收入者聚集地、社会网络疏离、居民归属感减弱、传统特色的延承优势不明显。造成的原因是复杂的，有几方面原因是不容忽视的：物质环境的“衰败”、居住主体的改变、生活方式的改变、传统公共场所的消失、商业化气息过浓以及居民参与意识不强等。据此，笔者对将来旧城区居住环境的改善提出一系列建议，期望为日后旧城改造提供参考。 - 关键词：

Qingping Street in Liwan district, we find
that a series changes have been emerging
in this area, such as more and more non-
Cantonese and low-income people gathering
here, the original social network being
separated, sense of belonging to community
weakening, etc. It is mainly the result
of such reasons as physical environment
deterioration, residents changing, life style
altering, traditio nal p ub lic places
disappearing, excessive commercialization
and the inhabitant lacking the willing of
participation in local improvement. Base
on the investigation and the analysis, we
put forward some recommendations to the
future improvement of the residential environment
in the historic districts.
