从交通安全视角研究城市蔓延问题具有重要意义。以武汉市为例，从密度、混合度、中心度和街道4 个维度构建城市蔓延测度指数，并运用负二项模型分析城市蔓延对交通事故的影响。结果表明，武汉市城市空间沿主干道轴线或蛙跳的方式向外蔓延；交通事故与紧凑度指数、交通流量正相关。最终从空间发展、用地混合模式和道路交通系统方面提出交通安全视角的城市紧凑发展思路，为从城市规划层面降低交通事故风险提供有益参考。 - 关键词：
城市蔓延；交通事故；紧凑度；影响因素； - Abstract: It is of vital importance to study urban sprawl from the perspective of traffic safety. Taking Wuhan as an example, the compactness indices were developed from dimensions related to density, land use mix, centrality and street factors. Negative binomial model was used to examine the association between the compactness indices and traffic crashes. Results showed that urban area in Wuhan spread along the axis of traffic artery or achieve leapfrog development. Moreover, traffic crashes were found to be positively associated with the compactness indices and traffic volume after controlling for sociodemographic factors and built environments. To reduce the risks of traffic crashes and promote compact urban development, more efforts should be made to improve spatial structure, land use mix and transportation system in urban
