  • Abstract: Multi-dimensional flow data on economy, transportation, and information within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area were collected and integrated through weighted superposition to construct a comprehensive network. Employing social network analysis, the study examined the connection characteristics and spatial structures of four types of networks from the perspectives of nodes, edges, and regions. The results indicate that: (1) Each network exhibits a clear polycentric structure, with central nodes concentrated in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Dongguan; the radiative and aggregative capacities of nodes vary considerably, with a spatial pattern of greater activity in the east than in the west. (2) Economic, transportation, and information linkages are uneven across the region, with the comprehensive network centered on a core framework comprising Foshan, Guangzhou, Dongguan, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong, while cities on the west bank of the Pearl River display weak external connections. (3) Significant policy and geographic boundary effects exist within urban subgroups, indicating a need to strengthen regional synergy. (4) The multi-dimensional network as a whole is centered on Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Dongguan, distributed in three concentric layers, with the peripheral layer lacking regional growth poles. Future development can be promoted through measures such as multipolarization, network coordination, and “de-bordering”, fostering coordinated linkage and high-quality development within the urban agglomeration.
