  • Abstract: Happiness is a state where people’s subconscious finds shelter. The subconscious exists in certain spaces and places, especially within the home. To live a happy life, people must build a happy homeland to provide asylum for the unconscious. Although some people have places to live, they all exist in a state of homelessness, having been “thrown into the world”. The fundamental reason for the loss of a happy homeland lies in the alienation of the dwelling into commercial housing that bears only exchange value. Commercial housing is a cold physical space devoid of both private areas and emotions, thus incapable of sheltering the subconscious. There are three main paths to building a happy homeland: first, constructing safe and solid “fortress cities” and uniting family members with the emotion of love; second, engaging diligently in housework, objectifying the subconscious in the home and its facilities, and transforming it from a cold physical space into a warm, “conversational” space; third, unleashing emotions and expanding imagination, thereby beautifying and sublimating the home through art, enabling people to “dwell poetically on this earth”.
