分析了我国现代化建设目标的历史演进过程，阐明城市化在现代化建设中的重要作用；指出在城市化进程中，应重视城市自身的现代化，为此对城市现代化的内涵、衡量指标及应注意的问题进行了较系统的论述。我国完成工业化和城市化的过程也应该是同时基本实现城市现代化的过程。 - 关键词：
中国；现代化；城市化； - Abstract: This paper analyzes the changes of the objectives in the process of modernization, and describes the role of urbanization in the process modernization in China. After emphasizing the role of urban modernization, it illustrates the conception and index for urban modernization and key issues in the process of modernization. The process of industrialization and urbanization should be accompanied with the process of urban modernization.
