从分析纽约由小部落发展为世界城市的过程入手, 认为纽约世界城市的发展过程有四个特点:充分发挥地理优势是纽约建成世界城市的基础；高素质的人力资源是纽约建成世界城市的主要动力；合理的产业结构调整是纽约建成世界城市的关键；城市凝聚力的缺失是今后纽约维持世界城市地位的主要障碍。借鉴纽约发展的道路, 并结合北京目前自身的发展现状进行分析, 最后有针对性地提出北京发展世界城市的四点建议。 - 关键词：
世界城市；纽约；北京；启示； - Abstract: This paper begins with an analysis of the evolution of the City of New York as a world city, from a small tribe to a common port city, then a national economic center, and finally a world city. Four inferences are drawn from the analysis. Compared with New York, Beijing has its own advantages and disadvantages for the pursuing of world city status. Above that, four suggestions are put forward for Beijing for its world city dream.
