城镇是推动经济和社会发展的重要载体，生态城镇建设是城镇持续健康发展的重要途径。在西部地区建设生态城镇既是区域城镇化持续发展的必由之路，又是破解生态约束下区域科学发展的重要途径。文章通过对生态城镇建设的经典理论的梳理和回顾，提出了西部地区生态城镇建设存在的现实问题、建设构想和路径。 - 关键词：
西部地区；生态城镇；理论；路径； - Abstract: Town is an important carrier of economic and social development. Construction of ecological towns is an important way to sustainable and healthy development of cities and towns. Ecological urban construction in western China is the only way of regional sustainable development of urbanization, and ecological constraints the development of regional science important way. Based on the construction of ecological cities and towns and review of the classical theory, the paper puts forward the problems existing in the construction of ecological cities and towns in the western region as well as the related construction ideas and paths.
