二战以后，受到郊区化、去工业化、全球化深化和社会转型等多种因素的综合影响，部分欧洲和北美城市出现了明显的经济衰退、人口衰退现象以及随之而起的城市收缩。关于城市收缩的研究多集中于其定义、成因及其规划应对。考虑到城市收缩是多种因素的复杂作用结果，仅使用人口变动（下降）来量化描述这一现象仅反映收缩城市的一个方面。基于此，本文拟对当前量化描述城市收缩的各类统计量进行梳理，考察其提出的理论逻辑及具体计算方法，为在我国开展城市收缩现象研究提供参考。 - 关键词：
收缩城市；量化计算；进展； - Abstract: Suburbanization, deindustrialization, globalization and social transformation since the Second World War have profoundly inf luenced the development trajectory of cities around the world. One dimension of this process is depopulation in the urban regions which is then conceptualized as urban shrinkage. Studies on urban shrinkage are mainly focused on its definition, causation and possible planning strategies to confront the consequent challenges. This paper argues that, regarding the complex causes and consequences of urban shrinkage, using population change (decrease) as the metric does not convey other aspects of shrinking cities. This paper reviews the existent literature on the metrics of urban shrinkage and classifies them into three groups: socio-economic statistics, geo-statistics and landscape statistics. It is expected that this review can facilitate more accurate measurement of urban shrinkage in China.
