根据历史资料及现场勘查走访，理清了滴水兽的分布情况及其缘起，认为滴水兽的出现是兽类辟邪在闽南建筑中的特有表现形式，一方面见证了清末以来建筑样式变迁的过程，另一方面体现了东西方建筑文化的融合。按照不同标准对滴水兽进行了分类，并通过对制作工艺的分类，总结了滴水兽从萌芽到消亡的发展历程，认为功能的丧失与工艺的退化共同导致了滴水兽淡出人们的视野。在此基础上，通过对滴水兽功能、历史、精神、装饰及工艺五个方面价值的分析，探讨滴水兽在现代社会得以重生的可能性。 - 关键词：
滴水兽；闽南；传统民居；传承； - Abstract: The article clarifies the distribution and origin of the Gargoyle and believes it is a typical form of the evil beasts in Minnan architecture, according to the historical data and field survey visits. On the one hand it bears witness to architectural style transformation process since the end of the Qing dynasty, on the other hand it reflects the integration of the architectural culture of the East and the West. The article classifies the gargoyle according to the different standards, and sums up the development process of the gargoyle based on the fabrication process. The article believes the loss of the function and the degradation of the technique led to the loss of the gargoyle. Therefore, in this context, the article analyses five aspects as follows function, history, spirit, decoration and technique of gargoyle, and explores the possibility of the gargoyle’s reborn in the modern society.
